Lovely but a few probs
I’ve worn these a couple times and they are lovely, but I have experienced a few probs wearing them. Most of the issues lie in the lacing. The velvet laces are super stiff and are laced in an awkward to adjust pattern. With there being no zipper, you have to try your best to open the laces as much as you can to get your foot in but the velvet lining inside the shoe makes this tougher if you aren’t wearing tights. Opening the laces, are a pain in the butt though, so you’re fighting against that too. Once your foot is in, the laces are annoying to tighten up, so I found that without being tight, the boots can bunch slightly around your ankle as you wear them. I don’t wear these as much as I would if the laces weren’t such a pain - either the laces need to be a silkier velvet so they slide easily, or the lacing pattern needs to be simpler, or there needs to be a zipper so once you get it set you don’t have to mess with it again - one of the three needs to be improved to make this boot a fave.
The huge positive is that they do accommodate a wider foot and calf, which is why they are not rated lower.
